Graduation Design Introduction of Environmental Design Major The 2023 graduation exhibition of environmental design major is the embodiment of training achievements of professional applied talents for four years. It is also a comprehensive demonstration test field for the graduates of the class of 2019, and a feast of diversified design concepts. This exhibition involves landscape and public art design and architectural interior design. There are a total of 105 works on display, among which 73 works are carried out based on real projects, accounting for 70%.
Guided by the core contents of the fields related to China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, such as rural revitalization, urban renewal, healthy human settlements and digital China, the works explore the boundaries and connotations of the environmental design industry and profession in the post-digital era. In the vigorous creative works, students use flexible techniques and innovative consciousness to develop a series of sustainable development programs through professional knowledge. The works contain many innovations, such as promoting rural revitalization through carrying out ecological restoration, revitalizing state-owned waste resources through the method of industry + design, replacing the traditional urban renewal of "demolition, redevelopment and preservation" with “preservation, transformation and demolition”, and recreating the heritage conservation projects through interdisciplinary virtual display. Meanwhile, they demonstrate the great potential of the environmental design major in the current national important fields such as urban development and rural revitalization. The graduation exhibition encourages students to take a broader, developmental view of the environmental design major and to display their works in an interdisciplinary and creative way. This is not only a new attempt, but also we hope that through this exhibition, we can see the new look of environmental design major based on various thinking and creative techniques.
